Gladly only a couple of cars were parked on the parking lot so we headed forward and were a bit shocked about the low water level, however, at that time we thought it was because of the less rainfall but later on we realized that the drainage was broken and gladly same had been repaired by now.
However, it was still enough water left to attract birds and so we positioned ourselves in the hide and scanned the area and first we discovered lots of jacanas and even a couple of juveniles could be seen as well.
A grey heron soon appeared on the scene as well
only to start the hunting process
and also a green backed heron came out of his hideaway.
We noticed also a lot of pied kingfishers in the air trying to search for fish and finally one was successful and it took quite a while until same had been swallowed.
Terrapins were taking a sunbath
and to our delight also a couple of squacco herons landed as well relatively close by
so Timon could again snap happily away.
Finally the squacco turned also into hunting mode
and also the green backed heron was now willing to present itself a bit closer.
