Pilanesberg Ellie gets a Rhino Bangle

Post by Flutterby »

"Saturday this elephant bull got himself a "rhino bangle" around his front leg. Needless to say this is not a fashion trend we want all the ellies to start! The vet Dr. Johan Cronje and the rest of the Parks Board team got the chopper in and the elephant was darted from the air. The "bangle" was taken off and the anaesthetic reversed to let the elephant continue his normal routine. Hopefully he gives up this fetish
of "bangles'!"

Must admit, that ellie looks tyred out. -O

Well done on removing it, but how on earth did the tyre get there in the first place?

Pleased to see that the Ellie was rescued before his leg became badly damaged.
