NEWSFLASH-In a dramatic turn of events, typical of the current war on rhino poaching, the CEO of SANParks while on a helicopter flight to observe flood damage had to divert to chase suspected poachers currently running towards the Mozambican border.
What a HUGE coincidence  =O: =O: =O:

Here the picture, presumably taken after the 10-15 km trek, as one would probably dash off after the poachers upon landing, as time is of the essence? -O-

The Dr looks extremely sprightly...I would have looked half dead after 1 km in that heat...but anyway...

Rangers donate money for anti-poaching
2013-02-22 12:00

Chantelle Nicholas

Cape Town – The Kruger National Park announced that honorary rangers, on behalf of Lasher, will donate R260 000 toward anti-rhino poaching on Friday.

This comes after the number of rhino poached in South Africa since 1 January 2013 has increased to 102.

On Tuesday evening five suspected rhino poachers have been arrested in Phalaborwa, apparently while on their way to the Kruger National Park.

This means that a total of 40 alleged poachers, among them three alleged couriers, have been arrested since the beginning of the year, SANParks said on its website.

In 2012, South Africa was losing up to three rhino a week. This year the number of rhino poached has decreased to two per week.

South Africans are urged to report incidents of poaching and tip-offs to the anonymous tip-off lines 0800 205 005, 08600 10111 or Crime-Line on 32211.
