Skirmishes break out from time to time
This was a rather sad sighting. Two very skinny, worn down male lions were making the long trek to the waterhole. The animals have such harsh conditions to contend with during the rainless times.
After the first one passed us, we started to move forward, but the deep sand had a different plan for us. We were stuck. After the second one passed, the people behind us helped dig us out, which was very thoughtful, as they could have just gone around to stay up with the lions.
Even tho' the lions were still quite close, they didn't seem to be much of a threat in their poor condition. I don't know if they passed away, or were lucky enough to survive. Maybe someone who reads the Forum can provide more info.
As we were packing up to move to MataMata, we saw a thief stealing from our neighbor's property...
