:o0ps: :o0ps:

The photos of the various raptors are fantastic ^Q^ ^Q^ Maybe because they are slightly wet and the feathers are slightly messy. Especially the booted eagle. In the photo taken from the front, it looks really silly lol lol

Cute squirrels and mongooses O/\

You sure had to change camp quite a lot

Are there still Kruger birds that you have not seen -O-

Lovely chimitarbill \O

If I don't error the Chanting goshawk found in Kruger is the "dark" one ;-)

Do you know which kind of buzzard the white-breasted one is?

The leopard sighting is very special! It looks as if he is showing in how many positions it is possible to sleep lol A beautiful beast O\/ O\/

On one of the prominent boulders along that road a couple of ant eating chats could be seen

Image

and to our astonishment a great number of other cars stopped here and admired this bird specie.

Image

Image

After we continued our drive it got again a bit quiet but we stopped for another lilac breasted roller as well as many European bee eaters

Image

Image

soon we were already passing Kwaggaspan where we again noticed an African jacana and along the road also yellow billed

Image

as well as red billed hornbills were hanging around.

Image

Luckily we noticed the breeding herd of elephants right in time so that we could pass them and took shots from a safe distance as suddenly more and more materialized from behind bushes

Image

and they arrived from everywhere

Image

and soon even more and more arrived.

They crossed the road whilst protecting their little ones extensively

Image

and not only us but also many other cars meanwhile stopped and admired that elephant invasion.

Image

Image

We also came across a forktailed drongo

Image

and finally stopped ones again at Afsaal which was packed with people and also the vervet monkeys made trouble again as they first stole from one woman from her lunch pack the grapes and then another monkey stole an apple which same ate then with relish on top of the tree. After a while we continued and again we were stuck as more elephants arrived

Image

Image

and large and small crossed also here the road

Image

at least we got again a great number of shots.

Image

The obligatory impalas could be detected as well

Image

as well a buzzard in flight.

Image

to be continued...................

How was Denmark this year? I am afraid that you got typical Danish summer weather, the warm dry period was earlier I think -O- By now you must know Denmark better than I do, if you are not going back to the same place every year.

Ant-eating chats are not very common birds or maybe there are other bird lovers around ;-)

That was a lot of elephants and you were not even up north

Denmark was nice and we even had still nice weather - Luckily it was not that hot as last year but for us still sufficient, most of the days 23 degrees which is still hot for Denmark in summer as we already had colder summers where we even had to switch the oven on O** We had also rain but mostly in the evenings or by night. Since childhood we spent our summers in Denmark and mostly in the same place but meanwhile we visited different places O/\ O/\ O/\
