I've got a feeling of a hot summer in Kruger

A nice start Pumbaa!

Good birdies...never seen that weaver!

And the sliding ellies are great, I remember them from last time!

It was such a fun watching them - This time even more of them found fun in the slide

[Pumbaa]

Meanwhile I already finished the re-packing and joined Timon on our verdanah as I did not want to miss the slide of the elephants



or to watch the ones who already reached the large sand island in the middle of the river



some elephants waited until all members of the herd had their slide and only then started to cross the river.



For sure the mothers protected their little ones also when they were about to cross the river



and meanwhile more and more elephants arrived on the island



whilst more slid and swam to reach finally the island.



It was difficult by now were to look first the brave swimmers



or the sliding ones





or the ones who united meanwhile on the sand island – It was such a more than wonderful welcome gift, well besides the heat.

One of the younger ones found something which looked like a plastic bag on the island and started to play with same



whilst the others were feeding with the family



or alone.



There were so many little ones to be seen it was so amazing



and meanwhile the plastic bag found a new owner.



The huge sand island was meanwhile populated by so many elephants



but there was space for all of them and most of them even found something to eat or to play with



and to simply be close to mom is also wonderful



whereas the teenagers already enjoyed their freedom at least when the family members were in reach.

Wow what a lovely start to the trip . Always love watching Ellies around water .

Pity about the plastic bag . Had a WildDog pickup a piece during our last trip as well just wanted to get out and take it out its mouth

Me too but I guess the river or the rivers are carrying more strange things which do not belong into the wild
