Tuesday July 13th contd

We had spent about half an hour with the lionesses, and although they were fairly close to the buffalo, we couldn’t really see much chance of a hunt anytime soon, so we did a bit of a drive north before returning. There wasn’t much else going on… a great sunset as usual, and by the time we got back to the lion/buffalo area the lions had moved further off the road and weren’t really visible. We took a few pics of the buffalo as we went past the herd again, and then found yet more lion in the riverbed shortly before getting back to Lower Sabie. \O

Wednesday July 14th

Our time at Lower Sabie had sadly come to an end - today we would be moving up to Satara. It really was great not having to pack up the tent, so we went for a quick drive up a bit of the H4-1 first thing. We found yet more lions - this time a mating couple! She didn’t seem to be totally relaxed about the vehicles, whereas he had other things on his mind. O** O**

They fairly quickly moved off from the road, but it was great to see them… even though it was very dark at the time! lol

With the trailer hitched up, and fresh coffees from Mug & Bean, we set off for Satara. There was a sleepy crocodile at the low level bridge.

As well as a few elephant heading up the H10 O:V

Wednesday July 14th contd

Further up the H10 we saw some general game, but mixed in was a herd of Sable O\/ O\/ O\/

There was great excitement in the car as we had never found Sable in Kruger before O/\ O/\

The biggest male seemed to be hiding in some bushes. It was a bit of a mission to get a shot of him (particularly with the trailer making reversing fun), but he was certainly a big chap ^Q^ ^Q^
