Unusual or Interesting Sightings in the Kgalagadi

I had only heard the tale so far, never seen any pix of the event.

It certainly is a once in a lifetime sighting, but I'm still not sure what to think about that honey badger.

Yeah, but you (and also I) never saw elephant, wild dog or aardwolf either, and apparently they still happen once in a blue moon,
or even rarer than that

How is the fence situation now? Can animals migrate into KTP from Botswana or is there a fence?

And was there a fence in 1978?

was because I have only been there twice and it would be strange if I had seen one. Not that the frequency of your visits has anything to do with it

No fence these days, but I would think that there was one back in 1978 since the park only became a transfrontier park in 1999.
