They don't, Alf. I think I just get lucky, but most of the time I don't get a shot. :o0ps:

I went out on drive this morning and was pleasantly surprised. I thought it would be quiet after the heavy winds last night, but it turned out to be an exciting drive.

I was driving along the river when I saw a herd of Elephant. They were running as if something was chasing them, right in my direction. I went forwards to give them room, and turn the car to follow them.

I couldn't figure out why they were running. Here is a mom and calf crossing the road at speed, in the direction of the river...

I then chased and took the road to the one picnic spot. On my way down they crossed through the picnic spot in front of me and then headed into the river...

There were three young bulls, that I presume had been given their marching orders from the herd, by the matriarch. They were chasing after the herd, probably why the herd was running. The bulls followed them across the river, then all hell broke loose on the other side and I think they got the message. Here are the bulls heading across to the danger zone...

Hi all, and thanks again for following and commenting. \O

This morning my plan was to do a drive. I left as planned, but the wind soon picked up to almost gale force and cut the drive short. Luckily I now have traversing rights on both of my adjacent properties, so that's as far as I went. I also wanted to do a long walk on all three properties later today, but that won't be happening in this wind. (I wonder if leachy hasn't maybe broken lockdown laws and is maybe in the area... O** )

First up, another Helmet-shrike taken from the stoep yesterday...
