Eventually the rhino crossed the road...

... as they were tired of grass and wanted rocks and sand!

A desert trek in the baking sun!

Then some unladylike behaviour, IMO!

We left, but around the corner MORE delay!

They were passed out and immobile, to put it mildly!

At last we turned north along the Nwaswitshaka Watergat road, toward our prime destination for the podcast of all podcasts!

I'm reading this entry just before my dinnertime - I'm suddenly not so hungry anymore

It was a cheetah (or two)

Now, as said, the idea was to send live pics from a waterpoint, and Gump had thrown all the months of suggestions out of the window and made us go to the Nwaswitshaka Watergat, where he SWORE there would be cellphone signal...



We arrived, and there was action aplenty!

One even has two waterpoints to look at, if one wishes. A steenbok was drinking, which is a sign that it is very dry!

RP: "Ok! Here we are at last! Let's get to work!"

G: "Err...there is no signal after all...it seems..."

And the mocking began!


We raced up the road at top speed, as Gump had this weird notion that there "must be signal somewhere". (He can become a bit fixated. )


An astonished giraffe:

Within a few minutes we were at Nyamundwa dam, as I had now put my foot down.

RP: "I TOLD you there would not be signal at that place, but NO! Etc Etc..."

Gump: "It is beginning of the month, so everyone is on their cellphones!"

RP: "What?!?"

There was no cellphone signal either...

So we went down to the most useless but most cellphone-friendly dam in Kruger - my old haunt!

After an hour there was still nothing to see, and Gump had meanwhile decided to do this...

RP: "I TOLD you, but no! Blah blah..."

Gump: Ominous silence

RP: "And now I'm hot! The sun is shining on me! Change the car's position a bit!"

Gump: Ominous silence

RP: "I'm hot I say!"


Then Gump stripped his moer and reversed into deep shade I won't tell you where, asking if that was now good enough for me etc.

Now he is an inscrutable fellow at times, and large, with the piercing blue-eyed expression of a rather portly serial killer, so I shut up and behaved very well after that!


An hour later....action!!!!!!!!

This was going to be it - a live pic of an animal drinking in Kruger, on Africa Wild!


But it was not to be...
