David is a real masterpiece with all the anatomic details perfectly executed.....apart from certain proportions ;-) Only Leonardo da Vinci was better, but did more painting than sculpture.
I wonder if Davide would be so famous if the statue had been made in normal size -O-

Well, the smaller copies at the Uffizzi and at Piazzale Michelangelo aren't as impressive. :no:

Exactly :yes: But to cut a statue of such proportions out of a piece of marble needs a Master \O Also proven by the fact that two artists gave up on the task :yes:

After seeing David we decided to visit the San Lorenzo market.

A quick stop for an espresso.

The market is made up of an outdoor market for clothes, leather and souvenirs and a 2-storey indoor food market.

The ground floor of the food market is made up of butchers, fishmongers, fruit and veg sellers and bakers. The second floor is the food court where you can eat almost anything your heart desires! The vendors certainly make there wares look delectable! :yes:
