She still walked closer and closer to where we stood

Image

and finally joined him as he was already waiting for her

Image

and then they moved together away.

Image

Image

He followed her as she obviously started to smell heavenly

Image

but so far they only settled under the next bush and nothing happened.

Image

We scanned the area a bit and discovered right at Renosterkoppies under a bush directly at the waterhole another lion but same was far too far away and the air started already to flicker due to the heat.

Image

Our couple so far enjoyed the shade under the bush

Image

Image

and needless to say that meanwhile a lot of cars especially safari vehicles arrived and parked nearly everywhere but as it was enough space and the lions were very good visible from nearly everywhere it was no problem.

Meanwhile it heated up even more and the couple was meanwhile lying in the sun

Image

and decided to change their position again

Image

and unfortunately now walked right into a bush totally out of sight for us and also the other lions were lying flat on the ground somewhere in the shade and could no longer be seen

Image

but the view is always breathtaking especially with the clear blue sky.

Image

With the lions out of sight we simply turned our head around and could now notice a rhino mom plus youngster, impalas and warthogs who wanted to quench their thirst

Image

Image

a pity was that only a small runlet was remaining in the waterhole and all of them had to made some effects to reach the precious water.

Image

It was such a wonderful morning with what we already saw and it was a wonderful place to stay.

Image

Image

After we now stayed over an hour and all animals had gone their way we drove directly to Skukuza without coming across anything else to make a small break their and whilst doing so we noticed at the bird bath at the reception area a very wet red-billed fire finch.

Image

to be continued…….
