Re: Macro Photography
I am looking forward to your next wondersExFmem wrote: ↑Sat Aug 04, 2018 12:42 am Thanks for the article, Sis![]()
As you know, it's my favorite type of photography as it opens up a whole new universe of exquisite little denizens whose lives and habits are as complex and intriguing as any of the larger animals.

As the author says, I can spend HOURS searching for hidden treasures - it's like Christmas morning every time I go out for a shoot. Hope to be able to return to it soon.![]()

Re: Macro Photography
After Liz revived this thread with that article that was both informative and humorous, I began looking back at some of the entries from a few years ago when there was interest on the Forum in this area of photography.
I'd like to revisit the subject of Macro Photography, and see if there are those who might either be already bitten by the bug (pun intended), or be intrigued enough to try their hand at it.
Would LOVE to see some of your photos of these unsung and most often overlooked fellow travelers on planet Earth, or other creative uses of close-up views of any subjects - animate or inanimate.
I include my SA pics in my TTs, but here are a few non-South African subjects to start what I hope will become an area of interest once again:
Leaf Cutter Ant - Costa Rica
Caterpillar - Costa Rica
Peek-a-Boo Katydid
Happy Valentine's Day Dear

Thank you, Ex

Thanks, dear ones
Sadly, looks like there are not many Macro enthusiasts at the moment. Hoping there are some lurkers who will give it a try and post their results.
With the necessary pic size restrictions on Forums it's hard to see all the details, but here are a few more:
A dragonfly, obviously
A paper wasp at its nest w/ eggs:
I had been watching a jumping spider with eggs in its nest in the door jam leading to a deck, hoping to photograph the kidlets when they emerged:
Alas,
one day I found another type of jumping spider who had discovered the eggs and was devouring them

I have also tried some macro , but you need a proper macro lens for really good results .
And also lots of patience

Exquisite, Ex!
I'm sure you can post some bigger pics? it just depends if you get caught or not!
