05 – More “Rare” ones
It took a while but here is next story:
We were staying in Mopani and decided to go to Letaba for a nice view on the river and riverbed from the restaurant. The coffee was very much OK but nothing in the riverbed to look at. So we went back late afternoon with great light for photos because of the sunset.
It was very quiet on the road and suddenly we spotted something moving. A jackal, but not the more common one but a beautiful side-striped jackal.
-

-
One of the species you don’t see every day. This one was not that shy and made it possible to make some shots.
-

-
I love this sunset light , if it on coming from the right side …..
-

-
Last shot before the jackal moved away from us behind the bush
-

-
Still talking about this great sighting, just a few hundred meter ahead, we had to stop again. Well, no problem if you see a nice group of Roan antelope.
First thing we saw was:
-

-
It is even more special to see youngsters with the Roan, proving their number is growing.
-

-
Some were walking more close to the road where others were more further away.
-

-
It was quiet as I said , wondering we were almost alone with them, just one other car nearby.
-

-
Lovely to watch the young ones with their “big” ears.
-

-
Roan in sunset , it makes you smile and happy….
-

-
All together we could count about 10 of them
-

-
Last shot before we had to move on to be on time at Mopani.

-
Thanks for being with us again.
See you next story
