After we were done exploring we went on our first game drive. We decided to leave my car behind (as it didn't like the roads too much) and fit into the other two vehicles. SO and the Brat went in Tony's car with their 3 year old son!
Our first sighting was of two African Hawk-eagles but I didn't manage any pics, then impala.
Zebra
Kudu Couple
We spotted a pair of jackals but no time for a pic. We made our way down to a picnic site on the Olifants River where we got out to enjoy the view.
A panoramic shot
All the occupants of Tony's car seemed rather frazzled and we soon saw why. The 3 year old is a bundle of energy and does not stop for 1 second. He was tearing around the picnic site shouting at the top of his voice and thoroughly disturbing the peace!

He had taken a shine to SO and would not leave him alone!
Tony & Anita eventually dragged him, kicking and screaming, back to the car and drove off!

We assumed/hoped they would be back soon, so we relaxed to enjoy the quiet!

When they did come back the little one was a bit more subdued and Tony took a pic of the rest of the group.
These are the Brat's God-parents, their daughter and son (sitting), and a friend. Their daughter (next to the Brat) is our God-daughter. The lady next to me is Tony's sister...all very confusing!
It was getting quite dark so we decided to make our back.
Last pic of the day.
For supper we made pizzas in the gas braai which were delicious, and had lots of laughs around the fire. It was good to be back in the bush!
