Thanks FB, Lisbeth, Pumbaa, nan, RP and Bushcraft for continuing to follow along and for your encouraging comments. It was without doubt the best Lion sighting we have ever had so warranted lots of photos.
Sunday 27th August continued...
After a quick breakfast at Crocodile Bridge we proceeded to the S25. We had heard lots of good things about this road so were eager to check it out for ourselves. Our first encounter was with an oncoming car. We excitedly told them to check out the Lion action on the S28, and they informed us that there was a family of 6 Cheetahs resting off the side of the road north of Malelane when they had come through. This got us very excited as we had gone down the S28 in the hope of finding Cheetah and had missed out. Perhaps we would see some after all? The sighting was a long way away however so there was a good chance the cats would have moved off by the time we got there.
The early section of the S25 produced some nice bird sightings plus a small Zebra herd that were preparing to cross the road when we happened upon them.

Then at the S26 turnoff a Common Duiker popped up beside the road and showed an unusual lack of care for our presence, continuing to graze right beside us.

Further on a gathering of vultures suggested there may be a carcass nearby, but we couldn't see any action on the ground. Amongst all the White-backed Vultures was one impressive Lappet-faced Vulture.
