That little bird is more a pest than a pet Treating my house as a foraging/hunting ground , and leaving her droppings behind
She raises her children on my doorstep , and teaches them the same bad manners

In the meantime , the resident African Hoopoo is also raising a clutch of youngsters , foraging on front of the house ..

Seeing as it is matric time...I remember one year when a hoopoe decided to sit in the upper windows at the back of our school hall and scream his call endlessly...I couldn't get to him, so it was a tough afternoon!

I remember we had doves nesting right outside our school hall and had constant cooing throughout our exams!!
