A pair of house sparrows have made a nest on my front porch , which makes it handy and close-by for them to the birdfeeder under the jacaranda tree . They also forage around for insects and flies etc . , and lately they have become very bold by invading my kitchen , in their search for crumbs and other " groceries ".
But these are not just " ordinary " house mossies ; they are quite clever , and have learnt to navigate further into and out of the house . They enter through the back-door scullery , then through the kitchen and passage into the sitting-room , where they would catch a fly or something , then out again back to the nest with the insect in the beak .
See here the female , sitting on my old farm shoes .....
