Re: Rietvlei Nature Reserve through Greenies' Eyes
On Saturday I took a drive out to Rietvlei. I only arrived at midday so not a great time for game or bird spotting but I still saw a bit and enjoyed being out of the house.
My first stop was Coot's Corner Bird Hide.
A Reed Cormorant

White-throated Swallow

A Darter drying its wings.

Just after leaving the hide I saw Amoli
, and then came across this colourful pair. I think they are Elegant Grasshoppers.

A mongoose ran across the road and soon disappeared in the long grass.

A zebbie amongst the flowers.

A Cattle Egret following close-by.

An inquisitive Blesbok.

I find it very busy on a Sunday. I prefer to visit early morning on a Saturday. Then we go down to the dam and have a breakfast while its quiet.
Next trip to the bush??
