A late afternoon termite mound near Bakgatla.



Tok Tokkie outside our unit. It was so funny to watch him scurry along, stop, bang his butt on the ground and then scurry on and repeat the process.

We had two lifers during out visits.

First was a caracal - first ever in our lives - crossed the road about 100 metres in front us. By the time we got the camera ready it had ducked into the long grass and disappeared.

On the walkway to Rathlogo Hide we came across this monitor using one of the upright poles a seat.



On our way out he was still lying there watching the passing parade of people. He did not move one inch as folk went right up to him to get a photo.

My photo of a Diedericks Cuckoo was straight into the midday sun but I kept it as one never knows when one will see another.
