The early morning drive produced some really nice Double-banded Sandgrouse sightings in nice light.
I love the cryptic markings of the hens.
This male was fluffed up against the chill of the morning.
We had a long drive ahead of us, so packed the van, loaded up the kids and set off South for Letaba. The drive was fairly quiet sightings wise, but we did see most of the usual suspects along the way, but did not stop for photos.
We did stop on the bridge over the Letaba river though and hopped out to stretch our legs and take in the wonderful scenery here.
Check-in at Letaba was smooth and we were soon unpacked and sampling a beer overlooking the river. I decided to dress up for the occasion and wore my new AW polo shirt which kind Wildies gave to me as a present at the Rietvlei meet prior to this trip. Thanks everyone.

What is the good of having a nice house without a decent planet to put it on? (H D Thoreau)
I think, actually, no, I'm positive that I like ALL of your sunset shot big time and the scenery captures in general anyway.
But that woodpecker pulls a draw to it. A fascinating sighting too.
God put me on earth to accomplish a certain amount of things. Right now I'm so far behind that I'll never die.
