So we reached the Shingwedzi River, and turned off to camp! Can't remember why! \O

This short stretch is always lovely, and it was busy! And hot! (In case I haven't mentioned that!)

Quite a big boy! \O

Image

Maybe an emerging one, aat? -O-

Image

And a 3rd member of the big 5 lying nearby! X#X

Image

The river was full of water just before the restcamp...seemed the Kanniedood Dam had backed up quite a ways! Remarkable, for this time of year! \O \O \O

Image

Back on the route North, we stopped on the Shingwedzi High Water Bridge, and something, just a feeling, told me to wait a while, as I would soon see a great spotting!

I sometimes get these feelings, as an experienced 'Parker....I don't know what it is...maybe the smells in the air, the movement and reaction of the animals....clues in the vegetation... who knows?

And THERE!

Can you believe it!?

In the back of the car! O/\ ^Q^ O\/

Q: I am telling a lie somewhere above...what is it? (Not the beer)

"Lies eh? Let me think about this for a minute or two....."

"Aha! There is no water in any of your pics."

"Kanniedood Dam has gone, so how can a dam that's not there anymore hold back water?"
Image

"Hang on a moment there Fred. He's also lying about them feelings he had on the bridge. Obvious plagarism from Dewi's report, therefore an even bigger lie than the dam one. I'd also say that he was having withdrawal symptoms due to his alcoholic tendencies rather than some form of magical wildlife experience, therefore another blatant lie."
