With the afternoon wearing on we decided to take an alternative drive up the s29 and onto Mlondozi dam. ..0.. The picnic spot was deserted and we had the whole place to ourselves which was an absolute pleasure.

We stood for nearly an half an hour and just listened to the silence broken occasionally by the sounds of the bush and birdsong.

One doesn’t really get a true appreciation for the aspect and scale of the dam from pictures and it was quite impressive indeed.

I love Mlondozi at first light or late in the afternoon, but it gets very busy between 9am and 2pm O-/
