Saw these two on the 7th August this year. The first one viewed from the high level bridge at Shingwedzi, the second was in the riverbed between the high level bridge & Shingwedzi camp.

I think the ID's are correct, but change them if I've got them wrong. \O

Apologies for the poor quality of the pics, both were far away and are heavily cropped.

Please don't allow these photos to be used by any disreputable websites that are out there. O** ;-) :X:

Wowwww and I am serious... very well said !
Thanks, aat!

Another interesting paradox is that virtually ALL Kruger elephants originated from Mozambique! (With a possible few from Zim later!)

No relocations, just ellies filtering back after hunters had wiped out the local Lowveld population nearly 1.5 centuries ago, now! (Stevenson-Hamilton time)

Not a big deal, as they were basically the same bunch, just ironic, as Moz ellies were then wiped out across the border, and Kruger ellies went back when Transfrontier Park started!

The big tusk genes and shapes are pretty unique to the area...point being we could have lost everything had Kruger not been created! O-/

Really good catch , idd you are right with the ID's , so good to see Mavatsani again. He has been recorded first by our Africa Wild tuskermite Okie, one year later by another mite here Richprins and now recently by you. What a team we have here....

And you found Tinyarhini , another one who does not like camera's too much I guess.
If you find a few minutes and like to have them on the tusker site (I hope  ) please send them to me
tuskers@zeelandnet.nl

In my post a few days ago I was writing about one of the main goals of the Tusker Site ... following the life of the tuskers. I just found a great example that shows the devellopment of one if the tuskers (NGODZI).
I will show you two photo's , almost same postion but with a diffrence of 6 years
Look at the tusks ...

First 2008:

and
recently august 2014

it's just great to see results like this , exactly what I was looking for years ago :-)
Tuskers like NGODZI and MAVATSANI are not recognized at other places ..well we do !!

Mavatsani , to my opinion belongs to the top 5 tuskers of Kruger NP today...

and now... ending with Tusker-Art..... (thanks to P Muller) a wonderful picture of NGODZI

It's great to be a real tuskermite \O \O

This is Hlahleni near Letaba on the H1-6, 25 August 2014.

Far from the road doing his thing. He did not move nor turn around and all the other Letaba camp visitors drove past him, rushing to the Letaba bridge where a leopard was sighted (one of those you can not spot whithout bino and even with bino you seriously doubt whether it is an animal 0- ). So I could enjoy him in the last bit of golden light for a while. :-0

Thanks heaps for the ID, aat ^Q^ ^Q^ ^Q^ O0 O0 O0
