Nice, very nice indeed, oystercatchers are very elegant birds in flight :-)

Water is too cold to swim to them to get a closer shot, Toko. 0- :-0

nan, true about the shot in flight. The only good thing about it.
As for the Eider - the first time I got one in his breeding plumage. O/\

Great photos all round Mel. You sure are getting to see a fair bit. \O

The first pic of the mixed waders in flight is not clear enough to pick out species, but some do look long-billed and I'd guess Godwits, with some Knot & Redshank mixed in there. \O

The Herring Gull pic is a Lesser Black-backed Gull. The dark secondaries on the underwing give this one away, Herring would be white. \O

Remarkable, Mello! \O

Glad your marking is done! 0/0

The kids must do their own corrections, once you go through the paper with them? -O- ;-)

Thanks all and thanks, Dewi, for the correction. It's a false friend! Because in German the lesser black-backed gull is a Heringsmöwe. 0*\

Of course! We discuss the correct answers and they have to see to it that they note it down somehow to do the correction in neat at home.
