Finishing off last weekend's bumper crop of creepies.... Sorry Nan, lots of 8 legged ones in this post.

A Robber Fly with its prey.

A Banded-Eyed drone Fly on a daisy caught my eye.... I had to look closely to see that a superbly camouflaged Crab Spider had it in its clutches!

Yet another unidentified fly.

A Common Hairy Field Spider with a white flash.

And I think this is a House Mosquito.

One more picture to post but I'm waiting for someone to guess what it is!

Don't we know that part of one of your insects already? O**

That crab spider sequence is stunning! Exactly the same colour as the flower - amazing how some critters can adapt. O:V

Thanks Mel, I'm constantly amazed by nature - that Crab Spider was difficult to see, if it hadn't caught the Fly, I probably wouldn't have seen it.

On Wednesday evening my SO brought a couple of bugs home from work (Hartebeeshoek, NW Province) for me to photograph.

A Katydid?

And a very striking Striped Antlion (Hagenomyia tristis)?

I also noticed these two beautiful moths near an outside light.
