On to Sunday!

Freshly hatched Ladybird!

Cape Dwarf Gecko?
Image

Grasshopper/Katydid/Cricket (what a brilliant result for the Proteas!) nymph.

Another Wandering Donkey Acarea Butterfly

More pics for Nan & BC to avoid.

And another interesting Spider. This one was on a web but hid under a dead daisy flower when I disturbed it.

I took a look at the new Spider Field Guide yesterday but the R80 premium that CNA wanted to charge over and above the price online made me return it to the shelf - unfortunately Estoril had sold out of the book, they had their 20% off sale day. At first glance it seems to be a worthy addition to our reference library, plenty of excellent photos, each with a short description but I suppose I'd need to try and ID a few of my pictures before I could give it a thumbs-up!

I'm not going to comment on BC's perversions

I managed to get home before it got dark on Tuesday and found a few interesting things.

A Small Minnow Mayfly.
Image

a green bug! Looks like a tiny (approx 5mm) version of a Red Bug, but it's green
Image
Image

And a miniature Ladybird - only around 3mm long - that I saved from drowning in the birdbath.

A bit later on, my SO found this Moreau's Tropical House Gecko in the bathroom.

I got home before dark on Thursday and Friday last week and managed to get these pictures.

A Leaf Hopper.

A Common Stirped Skink.

I was really pleased to get this Spider-hunting Wasp; thius is one of the illusive species I've been trying to get since I started macro photography.

A new species of spider for me. My copy of the new Spider Field Guide is on its way to me as I type this.

And lastly, an interesting Fly.

It has been raining in Jo'burg for the whole weekend so the camera has remained in the dry.
