Right!

After evading the elliebully breeding herd, we were smartly back at the dam!

Peace and quiet...with the bulls relaxing again!\O

Dest: "And with a beer! (Clish)"

RP: "Correct! And I missed the campervan AGAIN!(Clish)"

Dest: "Amazing how these bulls ran away from the breeding herd just now! Maybe it's the water?"

RP: "No! They are in total control! In fact, people have been nasty regarding the bullsh lately! All shorts of inshinu...insinuash...crap being shpoken!"

Dest: "Wow that was a fast return to slurring!"

RP: "Jusht the adrenaline wearing off!"

Dest: "Oooh! I feel it myshelf now! \O "

RP: "Yesh! All that pink crap! What'sh there problem!?"

Extract from Diary of Section Ranger leachy:

Hmmm...as I suspected...the elephant are now trying to prove there are no aphrodisiac properties in their tusks whatsoever... Toi-toi'd outside Thohoyandou pension grant offices today. No success as cyclone siren sounded. Met Chinese gentleman who gave me a large amount of cash so I could go on holiday for a while. What a weirdo. Off to Bazaruto tomorrow. Rhino sighting at Crooks' Corner....repeat...rhino sighting at Crooks' Corner...

TFC!

Day 3 Part 5.2

A hushed silence descended upon the Kapoen, after the aberrant elephants had left the dam, squealing and giggling...

Dest.: "clish"

RP:"clish"

Dest."clish"

RP: "clish..."

etc.

RP: "Sho nice weather today!"

Dest.: "Yesh...clish"

RP: "And the rand ish looking firm againsht....no...the shtock market is looking bull...no...it'sh good that the new rugby rulesh forbid rear entry...no.......clish... "

Dest.: "Well I'm glad no-one elshe saw that!"

Image

The dominant bull arrives...
(He is a named tusker by Aat, known as Ndlovu...not a very original name...)

Dest.:"Oh Sh%t! Pretend like nothing happened!"

RP: "Right!...clish"

Image

Ndlovu: "You there!!! "

RP: (Ducking under dashboard) "Eeek! panic clish"

Dest.: (Ducking under seat...very difficult...) "Eeeek!" (Impossible to clish under seat!)

Image

Ndlovu: "I can see you, you idiots! What the hell just happened here? The whole bush is ablaze with stories!"

RP: "...."

Dest.: "..."

Ndlovu: "ANSWER ME DAMMIT!"

RP: "Nothinghappenedomightyisiswewerejust..."

Dest: "Nothing!!Wejustgothereandthesetwo..."

RP: "...andwejustclosedoureyesanddidn'tsee..."

Dest: "...andtheyseemedtobejustplayingand..."

RP: "...nothingtoreportreallyandsohow'stheweather?.......................................................................clish"

Image

Ndlovu: "Take you pink jerseys and get the hell out of here!"

Dest.: "ButweareinnocentandI'llhaveyouknowwehavetherighttobehereand.."

RP: "Ja!Andonceagainifyoucan'torganiseyourownmalesit'snotourproblemand..."

Dest.: "Wait a bit! He'sh on the other side of the dam!"

RP: "Yesh! Hahahaaaa! (Defiant clish!)"

Dest.: "Haaahaaahaa! (Defiant clish)...sho watcha gonna do, big boy! Haahaahaa!"

Image

Ndlovu: "I said GO!!!"

Dest.: "Eeeeeeeeek!"

RP: "Eeeeeeeeeeeek! clish clish"

And so we left quite smartly, for more soothing surrounds, and smarting at the injustice! These elephants really are bullies!

Thanks!

Day 3 Part 6:

Back to serenity....

(And Klopperfontein won't see us on this TR again! )

Image

The next "battle" was to be fought at the Luvhuvhu high-water bridge...

Extract from Diary of Section Ranger leachy:

Drat! That fool Ndlovu should have killed them by now! Have rigged explosives on bridge, as am sure the sissies will go there. Toi-toi-ed outside Border Post today, but Mozambiquan officials chased me back into RSA, as strikes are not allowed there. Rigged explosives that side, but were stolen. Patrolled alongside Dahamila Pan, out of habit, and found lots of pretty flowers. Rigged explosives there too, as most were pink. Cash running low, but have cornered the Vietnamese "yellow rubber glove" market now, and expecting a delegation. The bald fat one will be the first to go tonight, should plans fail.

Beautiful peace and quiet from the bridge:

Image

So a rare sighting:
Pels' Fishing Owl! Can you believe it! Couldn't get a good pic, because of the branches in the way, but the subadults are grey with yellow beaks!

Image

Dest.: Wow! We are shooooo lucky!"

RP: "Yes, I knew we would see one eventshually!"

Dest. "It has shmall eyes for an owl!"

RP: "That'sh becaushe it shpends a lot of time fishing underwater, you nitwit!"

Dest. " -O You said 'fishing'...you are shlurring!"

RP: " "

Image

RP: "And look! There'sh a shal...shabel...shab...Eland! \O "

Dest.: "Exshellent!!!"

And sho on and sho forth....but we had to start heading home...

RP: "I have one last mission for you, Destroyer!"

Dest: " -O You said 'misshun'!"

RP: "Bwaaahaaahaa!"

Dest.: "Whaaheeeheeee!"

RP: "We have been trying to identify these things on the bridge for 5 yearsh now. The problem is lack of shcale!"

Image

RP: "Go and identify!"

Dest.: "Shan't! They look shushpicioush!"

RP: "You shaid 'shan't!' Heeeheeheee!"

Dest.: "Hoooohooohooo! -O "

RP: "Ok, seriously now..."

Dest.: "You didn't shay sherioushly.... -O -O -O Whaaahahahahah!"

RP: "Enough! Go and place a beer bottle in the road to indicate scale! That is an order!"

Dest. "But we don't have any beer bottles!"

RP: "Bwaaahaahaaa!"

Dest. "Heeehe heeee!"

So we drove around the general Pafuri area to find a beer bottle, and eventually came up with one! And moved on to the picnic spot.

Dest.: "Did you just hear an explosion?"
