Nkaya Pan lookout

Post by Polentswa »

Love this quiet spot 18 kms south of busy Satara

Image

The rising sun is behind you as you face west (look at his shadow) unlike the S100 where you drive East into the sun at gate opening time ..not Good :-0

Nkaya Pan can also be productive in the middle of the day as animals come and slake their thirst

Apologies for the small thumbnail (I didn't have time to resize to normal web viewing size of 1024 x ... ) and the light was harsh overhead but he was a nice buff complete with all his oxpeckers.

And a youngster approaching the resident hippo...which was crazy....playing with a branch in the water.... -O-

(Old TR!)

The hippo was mad...chewing on a log...
