Cawuke Waterhole
On the H1-1 about 2km from the H3 intersection. The name Cawuke is the alternative for Chauke... It has its origins in the early Tsonga history around the 1800s.

Coetzer waterhole
Close to Punda Maria. The camp was named in 1919 by the first Ranger in charge, J.J. Coetzer, who named it after his wife, Maria.
This waterhole was named after him.

The oldest tourist rondavel in Skukuza, was built in 1929 with funds donated by WA Campbell of Natal, who was a member of the first Parks Board in 1926

Crocodile River
The Crocodile River flows along the southern boundary of Kruger, from west to east, and provides for some spectacular wildlife sightings. However along much of the boundary with Kruger the southern side of the river is dominated by agriculture which can influence the aesthetics of the wilderness experience somewhat. The Crocodile River is a tributary of the Komati which flows into the Indian Ocean at Maputo Bay in Mozambique.

In the far north, it is the place where the Luvuvhu river joins the Limpopo river, at the end of the Luvuvhu river drive (S63). It is also the place where the borders between South Africa, Mozambique and Zimbabwe meet.
It got its name from the bandits and gangsters who lived there in the late XIX century, where it was easy to avoid the laws by fleeing from one country to the neighbouring one.
