Speeding in Kruger

At Saturdays Management Plan meeting, Kruger CEO made some very interesting points.

The idea is for all Kruger vehicles to be issued with GPS tags, monitoring speed ans sudden braking! This would effectively mean that if you find roadkill you can report the GPS coordinates, and should an SP vehicle have suddenly braked there recently the culprit will be disciplined!

Secondly, there are only 7 traffic cops in the Park, woefully inadequate, he said. 7 more are due in November, I think, after in-house training in conjunction with relevant authorities! \O

Many millions remain unpaid regarding Kruger traffic fines, though, as is the general custom in the country. @#$

Apart from the last bit, it sounds like a good improvement to tackle the speeding :-)
Hope it'll be really implemented \O

Don't allow those individuals to leave or alternatively don't let them back in until all fines are settled.

Like any system, it's only as good as those using it and that's my concern, however the detail as posted by RP is at least a positive step.

Even 14 are too few if you count the number in each shift.

7 is completely unrealistic 0*\ I never knew that they were so few. The size of Kruger, the number of traffic officer, the number of hours and 7 days a week.....

Disgusting!!

I have never understood why staff are allowed to drive at 65 kmh. The 50kmh has most likely been established because it gives you time to brake if there are animals in the road or coming out of the bush, so why should staff be allowed to drive faster??? It has no sense 0*\ and obviously they are driving even faster O/ O/
