In May our London family
came to visit so what better excuse than to pop in at Pilanesberg for quick visit. We decided to stay at The Kingdom Resort which is a short distance from two entrance gates.
Herewith a few photos from that short trip.
An early morning view toward Mankwe Dam.
Here is the London family at Mankwe Hide with the latest addition to the Gillatt clan still to make an appearance.
Some of the "ghost squad" making their way along a stream bed.
A baby ellie hanging onto Mommy.
To be continued.

Beautiful scenery and DIL
I think that it's the first time that I have seen a baby elephant holding on to the the tail of the mother in nature. I thought that they only did it in the Disney cartoons

Black-chested Snake-Eagle.
Melanestic Goshawk in a very shady spot so light not too good. What was he looking at?
A Giant Kingfisher also in a very shady spot.
And the two together.
Mommy Francolin and her baby.
Fish Eagle calling.
A Black and a White Rhino close to each other at Mankwe Hide but not close enough to fit in one photo.
Finally, a Puffie crossing the road.
Thats all for now folks.

Veru good sightings, stf!
Another pretty AW family, well done!
Interesting that dehorned rhino...how the horn grows back!
And ellie on tail, very unusual as Lis says!

Hi R.P.. Thank you for the compliment.
I was wondering what happened to his horn
That little ellie looked so cute - straight out of Jungle Book.

Hi Flutterby.
It was amazing for such a short visit but we really wanted to show young Pedro some elephant but as "Sods Law" they were not to be seen.
