- change names in the index: Rusty-spotted Genet and South African Small-spotted Genet / Feline Genet
- Richprins has a Rusty spotted Genet posted under Small-spotted (minus 20 points for the gents)

And the hares need updating:

- Dingdingwe's hare is the same as the other ones: Savanna Hare (it is clearly in woodland) - more minus points for the gents ^0^
- change names: Scrub hare is now savanna hare

Maybe keep the original names and just add the new names in brackets. Far too complicated.

AW should go with the international standard and not oppose progress in science 0-

The new names are all over the place in new publications.

Taxonomy is the science of detecting, describing, naming and classifying organisms and is, of course, critically important to disciplines such as conservation, a prerequisite for informed ecological management policy. And as for all scienes there is change.

No, I don't think we are a scientific forum as much as a community forum...hence covering old and new names...very few members will have all the latest scientific taxonomy under their belts! :-0

Nothing to lose?

I agree with Klipspringer! It might backfire to have wrong information on the forum and as said, we must follow the scientific progress. Our Africa Wild books will have no value, if the information contained is not correct.

You are the one against the new names O**
