 This is a bit old I think. Satara is still mentioned here to have a Wimpy, but it was one of the first camps to open a M&B. SANParks seem to be behind the times again regarding their own news. O**

Don't know what "MICE" means, but I once again, for the umpteenth time, think that Skukuza conference lodge will be used mainly for Government meetings....for some reason they have to break away and can't have their meetings in their offices. This is also why the airfield has been opened, IMO. Taxpayers' money at least not going overseas in this case, but a "white elephant" in the making nonetheless...

It's a combination of Mpumalanga Province wishing to attract these meetings...already happened with local government having a "Lekgotla" in Skukuza a few weeks ago, and sheer bloody-mindedness regarding forcing projects through.

Malelane Lodge is far from being a done deal...that is an absolute lie!

Meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE, with the ā€œEā€ sometimes referring to events and the ā€œCā€ sometimes referring to conventions) is a type of tourism in which large groups, usually planned well in advance, are brought together for a particular purpose. Recently, there has been an industry trend towards using the term 'meetings industry' to avoid confusion from the acronym.[2] Other industry educators are recommending the use of "events industry" to be an umbrella term for the vast scope of the meeting and events profession.

There have been various attempts to explain why people become spies. One common theory is summed up by the acronym "MICE", which stands for "Money, Ideology, Compromise or Coercion (depending on source), and Ego or Extortion (depending on source)". Other explanations have stressed the role of disaffection and grudges, or of personal links.

Hmmmm..... I think its quite good that the Skuks airport has re-opened . Good for tourism . I've used it previously . Took a very important customer to Kruger for the weekend , flying from Cape Town to Phalaborwa , via Sun City , on Friday , hired a vehicle , flew back to Cape Town from Skuks on Sunday afternoon ^Q^.
You cannot do that via Johannesburg , and not even Mbombela . Flights just do not fit in for those times O/ .

Interesting, okie! X#X

There's a long discussion here: viewtopic.php?f=201&t=2225&hilit=skukuza+airport

The thing is, why was the airport really reopened, do you think?

From a tourism point of view, your'e quite right Okie,..yet,...
once again Kruger gets subjected to more and exposure, which
I believe it cannot handle any longer. At least not under current
supervision,...

The opening of this airport, to me, Kruger, just one step closer to,...
commercial abuse,..

No, not my kind of scene,.

Know the numbers would not be great and of any significance, but if people are flying in and hiring a vehicle, they obviously do not count in gate quota numbers, but will be on the roads. O**
