Some additional thoughts (and pictures):

What I liked:
1) The campsite has excellent facilities. Kitchen with freezer, microwave, stove and hot water, and even washing machines. Note that you need coupons to operate the washing machines. These you get at reception.
2) Campsite has great birds, especially at the farthest corner from the entrance, closest to the vlei. Of course, this is also where the mozzies hang out.
3) I liked the hide.
4) I liked the dinosaur walk. very interesting.
5) But what I like most of all is that you can get out of camp at night (although not into the main game area).

What I didn't like:
1) Unless you want to 4x4, there is really only one game-viewing road. It's quite a long loupe, and for the most part dead boring.
2) Most of the 4x4 routes are right at the far end of abovementioned loupe. There are no short drives in this park.
3) Game viewing was slow and usually too far for good photography.

Impressive close ups of the birds and animals \O

That's one tThing why I wasn't too impressed by the Karoo - apart from the stunning scenery that is - animals tend to be faaar away.

0/* O0 Any chance of getting you to write an entry under the technical photography topic on landscape helpful hints? I am most interested in your nighttime and late in the day techniques when lighting is more difficult. Is it post processing prowess, as that takes a lot of skill as well? BUT you have to start with a great pic, and you certainly have that part down pat. Thank you for anything you can offer, or even books you have learned from. ^Q^ :ty:
