Good stuff all round!
This road is by far the best to see Sharpe's Grysbok in the Park, IMO!
They are tricky little buggers to photograph sometimes, though!
Saw 7 in one morning a decade ago, mostly along the Southern stretch!

I think we might all have an elephant tale to tell from the Mahonie loop...
We came round a corner and saw this Cow and her baby coming from about 'ten-to' and they were on the run. If I had to stop, they would have gone bang-smash into me. I kept my speed and kept going. The baby got a fright and jumped round and that set the Cow off to trumpet at me. I had a good skrik... phew.
Here is a junior - at a safe distance..
and some Toko's -
and a guinea-fowl with permed hair...

While mommy is having a meal behind the bushes :
Babies are having a look around :
Checking out the passing traffic
And then decide to rather go back to mommy

Re: Flavour of the month NOVEMBER 2013 - S99 Mahonie Loop
We knew something was happening because the squirrels went beserk. So we sat and waited . . . .
The only one of its kind that we saw during our drive along Mahonie Loop
A lone buffalo
Hundreds of tiny frogs
And a big surprise
