Time-lapse photography.

I have recently invested in an intervalometer for my camera...
An intervalometer is a device that plugs into a camera and controls how often, how long and how many shots are taken.
I have had to get my head around many things and I have managed to make a time-lapse of a flower closing. There is still much to learn but it has been great fun....nevermind that it has helped to free the head from cobwebs......

Has anybody else played around with this...

Something new, never tried it.

If I'm not mistaken I think the top of the range camara's have it also, will have a look next year when I upgrade

@ PRWIN ..I think Nikons have a built in intervalometer...but my Canons don't. It is a lot of fun PRWIN..you should give it a bash. I am going to experiment some more and I will keep you all posted.

@ Flutterby...I took a photo every 10secs....about 530 photos over about 90mins. I then made them into a video on CS5 and then opened it in my video editing software and added music. There is much I can improve on but I was more or less just getting some pics taken so that I could learn how to do it from beginning to end. As I said ..many cobwebs were swept away !!! :)

Thought the canon 1D series had that feature.

Why did you use CS5 and not a AV software where yu could have done that all in one move

No PRWIN the 1D does not have a built intervalometer...and I tend to use my 50D or 40D for the time lapse. I am a bit nervous to leave my 1D on a tripod for hrs on end. I think opening 500 odd photos in my video software would take forever...making the video in CS5 is a few clicks and a few seconds later the video is rendered.....
I really just followed tutorials that explained "the how to" using the software that I have....
The problem I had with taking the photos was not being able to get a slow enough shutter speed....so I invested in a ND filter. I played around with it today....what fun !!!

I know the guys make AV at the photo clubs and they use a specifice software for that, never tried , but this time-laps looks like fun will try it shortly
