Advertising

Post by Dzombo »

So, I have started spending some time on the Forum, after a bit of a break O**

I have noticed, that if one doesn't look on, there is a huge amount of advertising.
Is this something new ??
If I am sklem on the forum at work, I often don't log in.

0/* Dzombo

Mel also said she had experienced something similar since the upgrade but I think it was a minor issue .Can you let me know where you see them and what browser you using when you see them .Will try track it down .There was some built in advert links in the new version that may be the cause .

Well I am pleased I am not the only one!

There is an ad at the top, ads (usually the same one and large) between every single post and one at the bottom. It makes for a very unpleasant experience. If I see another Elephant Sanctuary Ad I am going to scream. @#$

Logged on to post this then decided to log off to get a screenshot of the ads ..... but they have disappeared 0*\ Will try later.

Using Firefox

Thanks Roger, but that doesn't sound like the problem. "Discrete" and "without any change to the user experience" it was certainly not. There were more adverts than forum content.

What I find very strange is that they suddenly disappeared. Almost as if someone was secretly monitoring the forum and was able to turn off the adverts when they were found out. It can't be a browser or device related issue because they were on my phone as well. Will be interesting to see if they return.

Did you keep seeing the adverts when you were logged onto the forum, graham?

Because I only saw them when I wasn't and it was also only a banner at the top and a banner at the bottom.
No other ads -O-

But awesome that you managed to pull them off, Rogstar :ty: so much once again. ^Q^
