Very interesting scenery that...is it indigenous scrub, Peej?
And the farmhouse in the background?
Lovely shots and activity!
The land in that section of the park was cleared for farmland years ago, so it's only starting to grow back a bit. The farm buildings in the background are beyond the park boundary - you can even see traffic on the N2 from where we were parked
The feast continued except for a pause whilst this youngster was captivated by a plane overhead en-route to JHB
Duffy then popped out to keep the youngsters in check
They had obviously been eating in a variety of places during the day, as one youngster went for a wander and came back with some padkos from down the road
Duffy wasn't content with how the carcass was lying so spent some time wrestling with it until it was more to her satisfaction
All the excitement was a bit much for one of the lads and he fell asleep in his ribs
However once Duffy had moved away he decided to try copy the wrestling moves himself, but the adult lion strength isn't quite in the boys yet
Josie finally made an appearance but fairly quickly flopped down to sleep with some of the others
We had been with the lions for about an hour and a half, so decided that it would be a good plan to take in some loops in the south of the park and see whether the lions might move for water later in the evening
A wonderful lion sighting with everybody moving around.....mostly
