What beautiful crisp light on the zebras, Pumbaa!
And grand bateleur in flight.
Ja, the rhino bull has love on its mind, I think, which makes it touchy!
They take it out on the children too, which is not nice.

Lovely rhino sighting again, and lots of activity at the waterhole.

Had a bit of catching up to do again... and must say that you had some really amazing sightings! Genet so close to the porch - and that mamba

Although both are scary in their own kind of way... Had an incident with a genet in the KTP. Let's just say I'm not too
much of a fan of theirs anymore... And if the poo stinks only half as bad as pee, oh well, not nice so close to home then.
Lovely shots of the general game and the birds too

But those rhinos are the best part
Have you got an idea what data is collected with those ankle collar, by any chance?
Or maybe it's an offender for bad behaviour or such being released with an ankle monitor.

The zebras look as if the have just come out from a car wash
Another great rhino sighting
Maybe they took somewhere a bath

At least this year we had really good light in the morning and evening compared to our cloudy trip last year

During those hot days we had this year a lot of wonderful sightings near water spots

At least those are those stories of the bush you will never forget

The bull started to get agitated and we already thought it was now our time to be charged but same simply wanted to use a nearby rhino toilet
and after finishing everything he returned to the waterhole with those strange noise
but Mrs. rhino was not amused and flatly contradicted him and we stayed until all of them finally disappeared into different directions.
As it was not that late we decided to again pay another visit at Biyamiti weir but today we drove first via the tar road as we needed a body break at Afsaal after that thrilling morning already. It was a more than quiet drive but at least we stopped for a hidden Jacobin cuckoo
and at the causeway between the S113 and S23 we noticed a brown hooded kingfisher
until we noticed that it were two of them.
After we took quite a lot of shots we continued on the Biyamiti loop and came across more European bee eaters
and for a buffalo herd which was very hidden because of the high grass and dense bushes at that spot.
Zebras could be seen as well as another beautiful kudu bull which do occur on that road quite often
we noticed another bateleur in flight but were unable to capture same clearly therefore the waterbucks were willing to pose near the Biyamiti weir.

Today we noticed a beautiful wooly necked stork at the weir
plus a pair of Egyptian goose with their goslings
and a couple of kudus were about to arrive at the weir to quench their thirst but were a bit skittish in the beginning.
The crocodile was still hanging around close to the rest of the carcass we noticed there already yesterday
and finally the kudus dared to come closer to take a drink as well as more waterbucks and we also noticed again the steppe buzzard we already found yesterday there.
We stayed a while but as nothing else could be seen we carried on and stopped for more grey hornbills
plus an impressive rhino bull who was thirsty
and so were his oxpeckers.
Whilst driving back into the direction of camp we also gave the Timfeneni loop a chance and here we saw a spotted flycatcher
and a very shy melba finch which was difficult to photograph
compared to a golden breasted bunting who was extreme willing to pose
and finally we also spotted our very first elephant for that day.
to be continued.....
