I'm sure you could find some mud to wallow in, otherwise try mixing some dirt and water

Thanks for the comments Twigga! O/\

Thanks BB, I always feel a bit sorry for an injured youngster, it makes them a prime target for the predators.

Day 2, Sunday 17 November 2013. Ngwenya Lodge, Morning Drive.

Up early again but only found a couple of creepies to photograph. A Stick Mantid and a small moth.

On the road to Croc just after sunrise.

We took the S25, Bumi Road and S114 via Byamiti Weir before getting breakfast at Afsaal.

Along the way we saw plenty of large birds.

An immature Bateleur and a Tawny Eagle were sharing a tree.

Then the classic Kudu pose.

Then more large birds.

A Hooded Vulture,

and another immature Bateleur.

To be continued......

That piglet has a snare, unfortunately!

The bastards use thinner and thinner wires as product strength increases!

This is subsistence/muti poaching, a massive problem all over the Lowveld.

Where was it exactly, BT?

Credit to the piglet for hanging on...but no chance forward, I think! O/

Brilliant photo's BT, the bug macros are stunning...great to actually now see what the little critters look like up close, but must say some are rather scary up close like that :-0 ;-)
the Bird in flight are just as stunning ^Q^ ^Q^ ^Q^

Thanks again SM O\/

Birds in flight are something that I've tried to get and mostly failed, probably because I don't get enough practice at it. My only tip is to practice, a lot.

If I was allowed to swear on this forum you'd be seeing lots of slashes, hashes and dashes. People who set snares have no empathy for the poor creatures they end up torturing.

It was somewhere along the S25 before the S108 junction. Judging by the time I took the picture, it was quite close to the S108 junction.
