Day 4 Part 2:
While I was lying screaming in the car at the get-out point for the Thulamela guided tour, the others were not particularly concerned...

(Remember...this is long before there were any rules in KNP!
)
GvR: "I bet you can't push this baby over with your head, like an elephant, Destroyer!"
Dest.: "I bet I can!"
GvR: "I bet you can't"
RP: "Mommeeee!"
Dest.: "I bet I can!"
GvR: "Then let me hold your soft drink while you push it over!"
Dest. : "I don't think so!"
GvR: "Why!"
Dest.: "Because you will steal my drink!"
GvR: "Ok! Put the drink on the ground!"
RP: "Medic!"
Dest.: "If I put the drink on the ground...how do I know you won't steal it!?"
GvR: "Good point! So how about I push the tree over, while you push the drink over on the ground!
?"
Dest.: "Exshellent!
"
GvR: "Exshellent!
"
Or that is more or less as I remember it in my delirious state...
We went off to the Luvhuvhu Bridge, with blood dripping from the idiots' heads, and I felt a lot better...presumably the insect that had impregnated me's larvae had made their way to my liver, and met with an unexpected and unpleasant end...
This bird sat still for a long time...in the undergrowth next to the first bit of the bridge!

RP: "Aha! Gymnogene!"
leachy: "It's another Pel's !
"
GvR: "I bet you...etc..etc..."
And then we sauntered off down the river loop...without me behind the wheel, the animals seemed strangely relaxed...weird!

Extract from diary of Section Ranger leachy: Strike is over. Have returned apron to Frank at picnic Spot. Patrolled Lanner Gorge. Removed kit from cave and returned to Ranger's post. Replaced tree at Thulamela Parking spot. Am ready for work. Didn't need to pay staff, so am reopening private account in Beira.
Next: Award-winning pics!

An Accipiter RP.
I think it's an African Goshawk as the barring goes high up the throat. In the pic, the eye looks red which would point towards Shikra, but if you enlarge it and look more closely, it's yellow and the cere is grey, pointing to African Goshawk.
