Thanks everyone for your kind comments, I'm having a great time photographing all these creepies.
It's amazing what you can find when you start looking! I just have an ordinary garden - most of the pictures above were taken on one daisy bush!

Do you use special macro lenses to make these pictures?

Hi vinkie,
Yes, I have a Tamron 90mm Macro lens which I use with extension tubes to get really close. Macro photography and extension tubes are discussed on this topic -

As I said in the Macro Photography topic, make sure you get good quality ones - mine are Polaroid and they have the connections that allow the autofocus and metering to work. I read the reviews on a few of the really cheap ones and there was more than one set that could not be removed from the camera!
You can always try them out on icicles

Last backyard post for the year! Happy 2014 everyone!
Another Paper Wasp closeup.
A Garden Locust nymph.
Freaky-Eyed Fly.
This little Fly was only 2-3mm long.
An unidentified caterpillar.
A Harlequin Ladybird Larva.
At my SIL's place a few kilometres away, I found two Cicada nymph shells stuck to a tree.
Back at home, a Carpenter Bee.
A colourful Hoverfly.
A Crab Spider.
And another type of Spider with prey.
A Cape Dwarf Gecko.
And lastly, an unidentified beetle.
