Cancellation of Travel Trade reservations originally made via the SANParks online bookings module:

In addition to the full cancellation of a reservation, any amendment to an existing reservation, which results in the value of the revised reservation being less than the original value, could result in cancellation fees being levied, according to the following schedule:
No cancellation fees will be incurred for cancellations or changes 46 days or more prior to arrival;
Cancellations fees of 50% of the total reservation is payable for cancellations and changes received between 45 and 30 days prior to arrival;
A 100% cancellation fee is payable for cancellations received within 29 days of arrival;
A 100% cancellation fee is payable for non-arrivals (no-shows).
If the arrival date of the itinerary is postponed prior to or on date of arrival and then cancelled at a later stage, the fees that applied at the time of amendment will be enforced if the amount is greater than the new cancellation fees.

Modification and cancellation charges may be levied on any other reservations amended or cancelled online, irrespective of the channel through which the reservations were originally made, and subject to the terms and conditions specified in the contract between SANParks and the Operator.
Although the online reservations facility will allow different types of units to be booked in the same camp for consecutive nights, it will remain the onus of the Operator to inform their client to pack up, vacate and check out at 10:00 of the unit occupied the night before and then to check into the unit for the next night, only after 14:00 that afternoon. SANParks will not be responsible for any inconvenience caused to your client in such cases and if this facility is abused in any way, SANParks retains the right to refuse use of its online booking facilities to offending operators.

RP do you think SP would allow the operator to cancel stands without taking down the tents? I doubt their model provides for the only erecting of tents when occupied.

Yes, Mike, I doubt whether anyone checks if the tents are up or down. -O-

We have during our recent visit to Pretoriuskop proverbially speaking, walked right into the lion's den @#$ The "general" campers were forced to bundle together in a pile in the middle campsites, not even mentioning the noise that we had to put up with!!! 0*\ Pretoriuskop is my favorite camp but will certainly not see me again unless this mess is sorted out 0= O/

New serviced tented offering opens in Kruger

By: Tessa Reed 7 Apr 2017 12:00

Tented Adventures launched a serviced campsite in Pretoriuskop Rest Camp, Kruger National Park, Mpumalanga, earlier this year.

The camp’s eight semi-permanent tents accommodate a maximum of 16 guests on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis. The tents are furnished with beds, linen, camp chairs and mosquito nets, and have electricity and fans. Each tent has a small deck that looks on to the camp fire and the tents and communal bathrooms are serviced daily.

Tented Adventures has its own private tented lounge and dining area, while Pretoriuskop Rest Camp, features a pool, bar and restaurant.

The company has its own fleet of vehicles and the safari experience includes daily morning and afternoon open-vehicle safaris as well as activities such as guided walks, night drives and panorama tours.

Adventure Holdings’ Jonathan Cohen described the offering as “Five-star service in a unique affordable environment”. He adds that the camp is staffed by members of the community who have been upskilled by the operator.

Tented Adventures’ also operates a similar offering within the Manyane Resort in Pilanesberg National Park, and is looking to unveil similar offerings elsewhere in Kruger and also in the Western Cape.

Tented Adventures is a division of Adventure Holdings, which includes Bakgatla Safaris and the North West Training Academy.

Shame, oh golly, Jonathan managed a quick buck in a tent, while Radisson Blue
are patiently waiting approval for tented approval!!

What a joke, Sanparks you are foolishly playing with big
enterprise!! Please take heed of your secondary missions!!
