While we were at the Zebra sighting a bakkie came past with logos on but I did not take much notice they did not stop and probably wondered why we were watching a Zebra ...

Little way further down the S28 we found them watching one of my favorites and we relised it was the HR from the gate taking a drive .


We waited for them to move off and then slowly moved in closer .The Hyena either had something interesting in the drain or it was home as he stayed pretty close to it .








We moved on and let our travel companions get some shots (we were traveling with the youngest rugrats boyfriend and Mother )

Further on we found some more ellies


And then some of the cutest new little piggies

Mother was there too but not nearly as cute as the little piggies

We turned off the S28 back onto the tar and found this little fellow crossing the road .



We passed Lower Sabie gates and stopped at one of our favorite haunts Sunset Dam ...

We found some hippo surfing going on in the low water but nothing much else was going on ....


We headed to Lower Sabie and I checked my phone and found a message from RP that he would not be able to make our tentative meeting something about new years day ...late ...family sleeping

I never tire of seeing the herons sitting on the hippo...scared the hell out of BL and myself once when the hippo went swimming under the waterlevel and the bird stayed on top!

Ja, Rog...I was wide awake, having skipped the NY festivities due to "medical problems"...rest of family were snoring...
