Great birds and I love the black-shouldered kite, my favourite small raptor. Great to see a black wildebeest
The LBJ could maybe be a chat flycatcher

I love the Squacco above the greenerie

and the pretty wildebeest
The Hawkmoths should go outside and be a tasty morsel for a birdie

Yesterday - 07.01.2016 - with the temperature reaching 38c in our home Joan and I decided to take refuge in the car with its air conditioning and headed for Rietvlei again. The outside temperature reached 41.7c.
Here are few pics of our 5 hour visit.
An Egyptian Goose keeping cool at Marais Dam.
With a Spurwing Goose that refused to wake up despite all the racket- another first for us at Rietvlei.
A European Bee-eater trying to get some relief from the heat.
Malachite Kingfisher at Otter Bridge.
These two made us make U-turn and backtrack as they were not going to get out the road.
So nice to have your eyes cleaned while eating.
Mother and child.
Coming up next - a first for us yet again.
