That whip scorpion is the most disgusting creature on the planet, IMO. 0: @#$

Great bird and jackal shots!

Can't wait for Mopane area! 0() 0() 0()
It was funny to discover the white head of the eagle and for sure amazing to see all the different colours in which they do might occur X#X

Lovely pics of all the birds. \O
But the Whip scorpion did nothing - It simply waited under Timons bag - A different thing would have been if I would have discovered same still in Timon's bag when at home lol

Yes, Pumbaa! After what happened two years ago, I am not going to drive alone in SA and I'll fly to Phalaborwa and will stay outside the park, very close to the gate, and hope that someone will come and visit and maybe stay for a few days ;-) Tell me when you are around there and where \O
Lisbeth wrote: Fri Jan 04, 2019 12:22 pm I have never seen a whip scorpion or even heard about it ;-)

The Wahlberg's eagles have an array of colour schemes, even more than the tawny eagle :O^

Nice birds \O
That sounds good, Lisbeth \O Will send you a pm latest by next weekend X#X The Whip scorpion is indeed not that small O**

A crocodile swam by

Image

and although it was still quite early it was one of those days which started already at 08.00 o’clock with 30 degrees or even more and as it was still a long way to go we did not stay long but were happy that we at least today could pay a visit there.

We spotted a Wahlberg eagle

Image

and then a hyena came running with a hoof in its jaws

Image

and finally crossed the road in front of us and as soon as it appeared it was again gone.

Image

Only a bit further down we came across a couple of more ostriches and today they were even again extreme close

Image

She and he were busy in pecking

Image

but we definitely enjoyed having seen more ostriches.

Image

The first part of the H1-6 is normally always good for sightings and so we then stopped for zebras especially two youngsters stole soon our hearts

Image

and to our delight we even found more warthogs.

Unfortunately the Tsendze loop was also closed as so many of our favourite roads in the Northern area of the park but as the park needed even more rain we were not that unhappy, however, the S50 was open and so we could pay a visit to the several Nshawu waterholes. First we met another waterbuck mom with her youngster who looked extreme naughty

Image

followed by a lark

Image

and at the one of the next Nshawu’s an elephant bull with one extreme thick tusk

Image

and here it must have rained during the previous days even much more as the vegetation presented itself again wonderfully green.

Image

Finally also a friend the tusker must have met somewhere on the path

Image

arrived at the water reservoir as well and now both took a drink together.

Image

We even saw in the thick mopani leaves another burchell’s coucal

Image

and now really close to Mooiplas waterhole a zebra mom with her youngster

Image

and mom was extreme protective.

Image

to be continued…..

The upside of catching up is that you get more episodes in one go and therefore it feels even more like riding through Kruger oneself lol
Facing the last moving day is always dreadful, but from the point of view at this time, it's not that awful anymore. Soon it'll be time to
go back again. February is just around the corner again! X#X

What I loved most about the last entries was the lourie juggling the berry in its beak, the ever so cute waterbuck babies - never seen any
of that size. I don't think, I ever even saw any other pix of them like that. Totally adorable, naughty looking or not lol

And just now the zebra mum with its foal. A very touching pose 0/0

I don't think, I have to mention the birds anymore. I just continuously admire the sightings and photos lol

God put me on earth to accomplish a certain amount of things. Right now I'm so far behind that I'll never die.

^Q^ ^Q^ O:V O:V Too many fabulous pics to mention one-by-one, but the obvious standouts are the elephants crossing the river (classic!), the toy hippo (it was too teeny to be real) ;-) , the waterbuck kidlets, the calling fish eagle is not just a still photo, but brings with it the evocative sound of the bush, and the Yellow-billed storks who look like they are wearing lace or crochet pink shawls. ^Q^ ^Q^ ^Q^

But being a bug lady 0- 0- , the Whip Scorpion is WAY too cool :-0 :-0

Grand tusker, Pumbaa, wonder what its name is?! O/\

And so nice and clean after rain...freshly-washed zebra! ..0..

I also like ostrich...there seem to be lots these days! \O
