Hang on a while longer with this one, 2 more options have been suggested as opposed to the first opinion of Sarcophagidae.

1. " I would prefer Billaea (Tachinidae) as an option."

2. "The abdominal pattern resembles Billaea, but the wing venation does not fit Billaea. Moreover, it is South Africa !
To me, it is a Miltogramminae, based on wing venation, head profile (as far as visible) and thoracic pattern. But this is all circumstantial."

Toko, under Wasps, etc. when I posted the Sq.-headed wasp yesterday I didn't post two entries, but this morning one of the pics was seperated into a second post . I merged that pic into the other entry, but the "X" is not there for me to delete the post Can you remove it please

I thought this was a queen ant of some sort, but then came across this species of fly that is described as "…small, easily recognized by their ant-like appearance, constricted waist of abdomen, and almost spherical head…"
