Anyway!

No, the tar road was pretty much a new baby, designed to link Phala with Mopanie area as directly as possible, while at least following the Ngwenyeni as much as possible!

A great feat of engineering! \O

At the Letaba crosing...a rare bird pic! ^Q^

Image

Bird: "Oh sh*t, it's him again...best sound the alarm! 0*\ "

The sun was beginning to go down, so good pics only on the northern side of the road.

As we neared the Tsendze stream, the elephants were also nearing it! A band appeared on the southern horizon...

Image

A video here, showing how fast they go!

Most are females, this being a breeding herd...although that is just my gut feel! Not sure about the partly hidden calf...will send on to experts! ;-)

Anyway, we neatly avoided them, and came to the Tsendze low-level crossing, which gives an unique opportunity tp safely view ellies as they can not get up there, and you are very close! X#X

Image

Ellie bull/cow:"It is true! He's back! Amble for your lives!"

And no, we didn't chase them away...they were just finishing up! There is always someone who refuses to stop drinking! =O: =O: =O:

Image

Bull/cow: "Shcrew you, Risch...Richs...RP! I shee you are now bringing in girls to help you! No mershy!"

Q. Tsendze stream is one major river catchment that originates entirely in Kruger, thus free from outside interference! \O Can you name two other big ones? 0()
