Saw this on Friends of Rietvlei Facebook page. Sorry about the photos not coming out.
Thanks to SA Hunters and Game Conservation Association - Pretoria East branch for this remarkable effort! Looking forward to "spotting" him.

We got the opportunity to get hold of one free roaming young male cheetah from Sanbona Wildlife Reserve born in Sept 2012 at R29,750.00.
The funds for the acquisition and the tracking equipment came from the SA Hunters and Game Conservation Association - Pretoria East branch.
All the relevant permits were obtained and he was collected from Sanbona Wildlife Reserve on the 7th of June 2014.
He was kept in the camp from then and after the fitting of a tracking collar today will be released into the Rietvlei Nature Reserve on the 15th of November 2014.
Keep an eye open for him!

WOW, all of your photos are exceptional but I really like the birdies! I don't think I've ever seen such a colourful egret before.
Oh, and that cutie watching through mum's legs - what a super capture.

Xmas Eve at Rietvlei.
I'd traded in my Sigma 150-500 for the new Tamron 150-600mm lens on December 7 and had been unable to try it out until Xmas eve, mostly due to the weather. I was really excited to finally see what I'd got and I wasn't disappointed.
This was the first of three visits that I made to Rietvlei in the next couple of weeks.
First stop, Coot's Corner Hide.
In the reeds next to the boardwalk, a Red Bishop.
Reed Cormorants.
And some Whiskered Terns.
Driving through the reserve.
Pied Starling.
Long-tailed Widowbird.
Red-collared Widowbird.
LBJ.
**EDIT** Female Stonechat - Thanks Lizbeth **EDIT**
Tree with storm clouds.
And Cattle Egret.
Next stop, Otter Dam......

There will be a 'bring and braai' afterwards.
There is also a meet of 'Rietvlei Facebook friends' on Saturday 31st January.
